When it comes to dating, there is no rulebook that applies to everyone universally. Sure, there are some general rules like respect and listening, but at the end of the day, everyone has their own dynamic when in a relationship. Some would even go as far as to say that our dating habits reflect our generation. 

You see, in earlier times, meeting someone often happened through family connections or arranged marriages. Traditional dating used to be much more formal where people had to ask permission from parents and adhere to strict social protocols. Family played a huge role in the decision of who we dated and especially, who we married. 

And while family still plays a crucial role in today's dating game, it's definitely not centered around it. In today's day and age, dating is heavily influenced by technology and social media. Not only does technology allow us to meet people from all corners of the world, but it also impacts the terminology we use (ghosting, catfishing, etc). 

At the end of the day, every generation brings its own unique set of customs and rules to dating. Some may agree with their takes, while some may disagree, but one thing's for sure - they are entertaining.
